Our trust has around 10,000 staff serving 1.6 million patients. It comprises Barnet Hospital, Chase Farm Hospital, the Royal Free Hospital and more than 30 services in the community.  This larger scale organisation provides an unprecedented opportunity for us to continue our pioneering work, particularly in finding ways to deliver even better care to our patients.

Our mission is to deliver world class care and expertise in our clinical services, underpinned by world class teaching and research and we will continue to measure our progress against our five governing objectives: excellent outcomes, excellent patient and staff experience, excellent value for taxpayers’ money, being safe and meeting our external duties, and building a strong organisation.

Sonographers based on the Royal Free site will receive 20% High cost Area Supplement (HCAS) plus a 15% reporting allowance.

The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Sonographers to join their Imaging Team on the Royal Free Hospital and Barnet Hospital Sites.

We are one of London's most prestigious major teaching hospitals, providing a wide range of Ultrasound services.

Working at the Trust provides an excellent opportunity for clinical development. As a sonographer at the Royal Free site, you will be responsible for the delivery of Ultrasound services covering the main ultrasound department, Fetal Medicine Unit, Acute Gynae and Early Pregnancy Unit and Breast Unit. The case-mix includes obstetric, gynaecological, general abdominal, small parts, paediatric and MSK ultrasound examinations.

With access to such a wide range of clinical services we place emphasis on supporting CPD for all our staff. There are training opportunities in breast and MSK ultrasound.

The Royal Free site is based in Hampstead and has a new ultrasound department with modern ultrasound equipment.

You must be highly competent, willing to embrace modernisation and workforce development and keen to contribute towards efficient service delivery. A commitment to clinical teaching, professional development, audit and collaborative projects is required.

A Post Graduate Diploma in ultrasound (PgDip) or DMU qualification is essential for this role.

If you are an ambitious Sonographer, seeking a wide-range of clinical experience then we would love to hear from you.

As this post is currently on the Shortage Occupation List, the Trust welcomes applications from those individuals requiring Tier 2 sponsorship to enable them to work in the UK.
