We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacy technician to complete our friendly team. The Pharmacy department of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is a welcoming, committed and expanding unit dedicated to providing the highest standards of pharmaceutical care and service in an internationally renowned teaching hospital.

This post offers a broad range of experience for those at the start of their career or for those looking to move from community into hospital pharmacy or consolidate existing skills. We would like to hear from candidates who are used to working under pressure, have excellent customer care skills and have great attention to detail. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Opportunities exist to progress towards becoming an accredited checking technician, and being trained in medicines management. Applicants must have BTEC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Pharmacy Services and must be registered with/or in the process of registering with the General Pharmaceutical Council.

The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust includes sites at Hampstead, Barnet and Chase Farm all of which have good transport links into central London for easy access to King Cross \ St Pancras, Euston, Charing Cross and London Bridge. Barnet hospital is a modern and purpose built unit and the current Chase Farm site is due to undergo an ambitions re-build.

You will be involved in a wide range of duties during your rotations including dispensing, preparing aseptic, sterile, and non-sterile products, and providing a medicines management role at ward level.

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
