Fixed Term / Secondment - till October 2019

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Neurosciences Therapy Team at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. The post is a full time, secondment from 7th January to 18th October 2019. The post holder will join the Neurosciences rotation, working in Acute Stroke and Neurology.

The post offers the opportunity to develop highly specialist skills in the management of acute and chronic complex neurodisability patients. The post has a strong emphasis on assessment and rehabilitation as part of a specialist interdisciplinary team. You will have the opportunity to take on the role of Team Lead. This will include leading on the operational management and service delivery for the interprofessional therapy team in your clinical area.

 You will be joining an established integrated Neurosciences team and will be encouraged to take an active part in current projects, including service evaluation, internal and external training, audit and research review.

 We are looking for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist who has significant experience of working with people with neurological conditions. Applicants must demonstrate specialist knowledge, skills and application of current neurological assessment and evidenced based practice treatment approaches. Excellent communication skills, a flexible and positive approach, the ability to work well in a team, an interest in the training and supervision of staff and the development of the service is essential. 

Please note the post is part of a wider rotation and the post holder may be asked to rotate to one of the following areas during the secondment:

  • Sub-acute Management Pathway, Royal Free Hospital
  • Critical Care, Royal Free Hospital
  • Inpatient Neuro-rehabilitation, Neuro Rehab Centre, Edgware Community Hospital.
