Our trust has around 10,000 staff serving 1.6 million patients. It comprises Barnet Hospital, Chase Farm Hospital, the Royal Free Hospital and more than 30 services in the community.  This larger scale organisation provides an unprecedented opportunity for us to continue our pioneering work, particularly in finding ways to deliver even better care to our patients.

Our mission is to deliver world class care and expertise in our clinical services, underpinned by world class teaching and research and we will continue to measure our progress against our five governing objectives: excellent outcomes, excellent patient and staff experience, excellent value for taxpayers’ money, being safe and meeting our external duties, and building a strong organisation.

Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is a large acute Trust providing a comprehensive range of secondary acute hospital services across the north central London area. The Royal Free Hospital acquired Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals in July 2014 to form the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, making it one the largest Trusts in the country, employing more than 10,000 staff and providing services to about a million patients.

On the Royal Free Site we offer an exceptionally wide range of local and specialist services, including cancer, Plastic Surgery, Blood disorders, Transplant, Dialysis and infectious diseases and have some of the best clinical outcomes in the country. We are a regional hub for kidney and liver diseases, vascular surgery and a major transplantation centre.

EXCITING OPPORTUNITY!

Applications are invited for clinicians looking to join our Middle Grade rota in our new purpose built Emergency Department which is in the final stages of a £25 million redevelopment.

We are offering an exciting, flexible opportunity for all clinicians who are interested in gaining experience in Emergency Medicine; the Royal Free has supported an expansion of our middle grade tier to support our new department, and we are looking for keen individuals to join our extended team. The posts will offer flexibility and in principal are designed to align service delivery with training, focused on getting non-training clinicians onto the Specialist Register. Specific emphasis is on successful completion of MRCEM / FRCEM, supervised by Educational Supervisors, the College Tutor & experienced College Examiners within the Consultant group.

There will be opportunities for secondments in other specialties, opportunity to take planned time out for overseas travel or other relevant experience & management exposure (to be negotiated on appointment). The post holders will work alongside existing middle grade staff to provide 24hour cover on an EWTD compliant full shift rota which when fully recruited will offer 1:7 night and 1:3 weekend rota with minimum of two middle grades working together per shift. Opportunities for flexible shift patterns such as night only are also available.
