Our trust has around 10,000 staff serving 1.6 million patients. It comprises Barnet Hospital, Chase Farm Hospital, the Royal Free Hospital and more than 30 services in the community.  This larger scale organisation provides an unprecedented opportunity for us to continue our pioneering work, particularly in finding ways to deliver even better care to our patients.

Our mission is to deliver world class care and expertise in our clinical services, underpinned by world class teaching and research and we will continue to measure our progress against our five governing objectives: excellent outcomes, excellent patient and staff experience, excellent value for taxpayers’ money, being safe and meeting our external duties, and building a strong organisation.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Inpatient Elective Orthopaedic Therapy Team at Chase Farm Hospital. We are looking for a Band 4 Therapy Support Worker to join this team. The elective orthopaedic therapy team is a combination of occupational therapy and physiotherapy posts and experienced Therapy Support Workers. The team is supported by an orthopaedic clinical lead.

This is an exciting time for this service as in August 2018 we moved into a newly built hospital with a specific elective orthopaedic ward. This ward has single en suite patient rooms and a 50 square metre therapy activity room. The Trust is committed to becoming fully digital and we are currently expecting to stop using any paper note systems from November 2018.

The role would include treating a variety of post-operative orthopaedic patients, administrative tasks such as ordering and maintaining equipment and patient information,

This is a full time 37.5 hours position and currently requires the holder to work one weekend in 4. This may change, as workforce is currently being reviewed to support the new extended theatre working hours and increased number of operating sessions.

We are committed to supporting CPD with staff training identified through an appraisal system, in-service training, external courses and clinical supervision.
