Fixed Term / Secondment - 12 Months

We are looking for a dietitian to support the surgical and respiratory team for therapy services. The successful candidate will be expected to support a therapy team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, therapy support workers and two band 7 dietitians in delivering inpatient care to surgical, respiratory, critical care and orthopaedic patients at Barnet Hospital. In particular you should have proven inpatient nutrition support experience particularly enteral feeds both PEG and NGT feeds and a knowledge of home enteral feeds discharge process. The band 7 dietitians can support the up-skilling of parenteral nutrition if required. This post will also include delivering group education sessions for the gestational diabetes service.

The department regularly undertakes training of dietetic students and the successful post holder will be expected to take an active role in this. We pride ourselves in being a forward-thinking department with a strong commitment to continuing professional development.  We have an established professional CPD programme and funding for courses is available for learning needs identified via appraisal.

The successful candidate is required to be able demonstrate the Trust values, the responsibilities of the job description and person specification.
