Fixed Term/Secondment - October 2019

This is an exciting time to be working at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust one of the biggest NHS Trusts in the UK, delivering care to more than 1.6 million people a year through our three main hospitals: Barnet, Chase Farm and Royal Free.

We have an exciting opportunity at Barnet Hospital to recruit a dynamic Band 7 Occupational Therapist, on a fixed term contract, to become part of the Surgical and Respiratory Team. The team consists of Dietitians, Speech and Language therapists, Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists and support workers.

The successful candidate is required to be able demonstrate the Trust values, the responsibilities of the job description and person specification. The person applying for this position should be flexible and able to work in the areas of Critical Care - ITU and HDU, Surgery, Respiratory care and HSEP (Health Services for Elderly People).

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate therapist, who is keen to develop their specialist clinical knowledge and management skills.  The successful candidate should be forward thinking and pro-active with excellent organisational and clinical skills within the acute environment. Good communication skills and the ability to make autonomous decisions under pressure are also required.

In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you will be involved in the direct teaching, supervision and appraisal of band 5 and 6 Occupational therapists and assistant staff.

The Therapy Department will support the successful applicant by means of regular supervision, appraisal and training.

Car drivers are desirable.
